Corrosion protection

Protective coatings & zinc

Coating systems built around proper surface preparation, real exposure conditions and the service life you need.

Protection starts underneath the paint

Most coating failures begin with inadequate preparation. We first deal with corrosion, contamination and failed material, then select a compatible protection system for the environment and the asset.

  • Zinc flame spray / thermal metal spray
  • Epoxy coating systems
  • Polyurethane UV-resistant topcoats
  • Industrial primers and enamels
  • Roof coatings and waterproofing systems
  • Galvanised steel repair and coating preparation

Zinc flame spray

Thermally sprayed zinc gives steel a sacrificial corrosion-protection layer and is useful for coastal work, structural steel and repairs where conventional galvanising may be impractical. It can also form part of a duplex zinc-plus-paint system.

Coastal corrosion needs a system, not a quick coat

Ballito and the North Coast are hard on steel. Salt, moisture, UV and trapped contamination all change how long a coating lasts. We match the preparation, primer, protective layer and topcoat to the actual situation.

Prepare

Remove corrosion and contamination before protection is applied.

Protect

Select zinc, epoxy, polyurethane or combined systems for the exposure.

Preserve

Build for maintainability and longer asset life rather than a cosmetic short-term fix.

The Rust & Coat approach

Start with the problem.

We can assess the surface, repair requirement and exposure conditions before recommending a system.
